Welcome to the AIM’s blog. The AIM or Abolish ISA Movement is a multi-sectoral Malaysia citizen’s iniative to abolish the Internal Security Act (ISA), which permits detention without trial.
AIM was established in April 2001, after the arrest of 10 leaders from the Reform Movement (dubbed Reformasi-10). NGOs, community organisations and opposition politicians have openly condemned the arrests. A movement was then slowly gathering under the umbrella body of a new citizen’s initiative — AIM. The AIM is led by human rights and pro-democracy organisations, women’s groups, students, and political activists. To date, there are 83 member organisations in AIM.
GMI is the acronym of Abolish ISA Movement in Malay (Gerakan Mansuhkan ISA). KEMTA is the acronym of Kamunting Detention Camp, where the ISA detainees are kept.

Following World War II the Nuremberg Doctrine was established. Government Officials, Police and Army Personnel who have violated the human rights of innocent citizens cannot plead the excuse that they were merely carrying out orders and that therefore their conscience was not disturbed.
Tn Syed Ibrahim must continually remind the Special Branch Operatives particularly those who have become experts in the art of torture that when the Day of Reckoning comes they will be held accountable and will not be let off until they have paid the last farthing.
